Design Connects People at MIFF 2018

The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2018 concluded its biggest show on March 11 after four successful days with exhibitors meeting more buyers from a wide base of countries and signing orders right until the end.
Overwhelming praise was heaped on the spacious new Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) which co-hosted the annual event for the first time with Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).
Buyers were greeted with more products and new collections than ever before from the record number of 625 exhibitors from 13 countries. The trade show organised by UBM Malaysia is Southeast Asia’s largest furniture sourcing hub and 25% bigger this year grossing 100,000sqm.

Official launching MIFF 2018, the biggest show edition
MIFF 2018 has raised its curtain to the global trade visitors on 8 March 2018, unveiled its biggest ever show in its 24-year history. The opening ceremony kicked off with traditional Malay drum beats as the Guest-of-Honour Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong, former Minister of Plantation Industries & Commodities arrived at the spacious Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition (MITEC) to grace the show at Kinabalu Summit, Level 3.
Bringing new business opportunities on the trading floor
MIFF 2018 opens its door to more global trade buyers in both venues, PWTC and MITEC. Over 620 exhibitors from different part of the world present their new products ideas and collections for trade buyers bringing new business opportunities on the trading floor.
One of the highlights of MIFF every year is the Buyers’ Night, which is exclusively for international buyers. It is a glitzy and glamorous night to look forward to. A treat for buyers, they will be delighted by professional entertainers, and enjoy good food and great company.

Connecting People through Design
Trading power still strong at MIFF as the global trade buyers continue to source for product. The largest international furniture meeting place in Southeast Asia has grown further by 25% this year, to give more product selection and variety design for trade buyers to choose from.
Wrapping up MIFF 2018 with a successful note
MIFF 2018 has officially ended with a high note by achieving record sales of US$984 million after four successful days with elated exhibitors meeting more buyers from a wide base of countries and signing orders right until the end.
This year's show hosted 625 exhibiting companies, a 13% increase from before. Total visitorship swelled to nearly 20,000 visitors from 134 countries and regions with the number of international buyers rising 5% to 5,866.
The profile of the MIFF as an international sourcing hub was reinforced by the significant numbers of strong buyers from China, Australia, Japan, India, United States, United Kingdom, Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and Southeast Asian countries attending the show.
