It doesn’t matter if this is your umpteenth time or first at MIFF, there is always 

something new that waits to excite you. For starters, the Buyers’ Night is a must 

attend. A fun-filled occasion held on the evening of 4th March, be awed by magnificent

Come by Hall ‘A’ of MECC any day from 3 – 7 March and have a look at the proud display 

of awesome furniture designs made from the finalists of MIFF Furniture Design Competition 

2015. If you are curious to find out which designer takes home the grand prize, be 

sure not to miss the Prize Presentation Ceremony at 2.30pm on 5th March at the main 

entrance of Hall ‘A’ where prizes will also be awarded to the best exhibitor booth 

presentation and exhibitors for furniture excellence.

Experts of the furniture industry coming from as far as Italy and the USA will be 

conducting five seminars in total from 4 – 6 March at PWTC. Be on the lookout for

Right next to the seminar rooms you will find the International Buyers Lounge (IBL) 

- your best bet for a quick recharge or a cup of coffee. Free use of internet/computers, 

foot massages and light refreshments are served in a comfy surrounding. The IBL is surely 

your go-to place during half-time.

Petronas Twin Towers 

The most significant skyscraper in Malaysia. This piece of engineering genius was once 

the world's tallest building, that was until 2004 when a certain Taiwanese skyscraper 

topped it. Nevertheless, it is still the tallest twin tower in the world. The Sky Bridge 

on the 41st and 42nd floor connects both towers. Visitors are allowed to purchase tickets 

to enjoy the bird's-eye view of the beautiful city; and when night falls, whether up close 

or from afar, it makes a breathtaking sight.

 

Bukit Bintang

Take a 10 minute walk via the sky bridge from the Petronas Twin Towers and you’ll reach 

the heart of the city – Bukit Bintang. One would find a cluster of shopping centers in 

this happening district (by the way, Kuala Lumpur is ranked the 4th city in the world for 

shopping). This place is a hub that gathers everything ranging from bars to street food to 

high-end fashion chains. Popular amongst the locals and tourists, Bintang Walk is definitely 

THE place for a great night out. 

 

Batu Caves

If you have more time on your hands, you should consider Batu Caves - one of the most frequented 

tourist attractions in Kuala Lumpur. It is a Hindu temple and shrine with more than 100 years 

of history and is located approximately 13 kilometers from downtown Kuala Lumpur. The main 

attractions here are the idols and statues erected around the caves. The main cave has a large 

statue of the Hindu God and you’ll need to climb up 272 stairs to reach the top of Batu Caves. 

A couple tips to bear in mind, don’t wear shorts, and beware of the monkeys! 

 

Taman Negara National Park 

If you’d like to venture out of the city, then the Taman Negara National Park is the perfect place 

for travelers who love nature and wild life. It is one of the oldest tropical rain forests in 

the world and covers an area over 4000km². The diversity of its fauna and flora is a result of 

incessant growth over 130 million years. While on your stroll, try to spot the Rafflesia (shouldn't be

too hard, it is the biggest flower in the world afterall). For hikers, did you know the Peninsula’s highest

mountain, Gunung Tahan (2,187 meters), is located in Taman Negara as well?

 

Penang 

Further up north lies the state of Penang, also known as 'Pearl of the Orient'. It carries the 

unique cultural heritage and natural beauty of Malaysia. Despite its rapid development in recent 

years, it is still commonly perceived as a laid-back tropical paradise rich in history with a captivating 

fusion of East and West. If you are a foodie, then you have come to the right place. Penang is 

well known for their local delicacies and hawker food. Sample authentic dishes and truly see the 

real culture of Malaysia.

 

Islands of Malaysia

If you are looking for a scenic escape from the busy world, Malaysia boasts at least 10 world class 

islands where white sandy beaches meet crystal clear waters. In the day time, enjoy leisure 

activities like parasailing, jet skiing, jungle trekking, scuba diving, snorkelling and at night, 

spoil yourself in the care of five star resorts sprinkled across the islands. Sipadan, to name a few, 

is widely considered to be one of the top five diving destinations in the world! With the patrolling 

hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, more than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species, it is 

nature at its best, a true heaven for the diving enthusiasts.
